FullMetal: Shared Grief by MilesTailsPrower-007 FullMetal: Shared Grief by MilesTailsPrower-007
Thank you to the people who gave me pointers on the sketch version of this! I really appreciate it! Also, thank you ~chemb0t for suggesting what to do with Trisha's arms.

:D

Several people said I should add tears, but this is supposed to be grief over their mother and losing their home and stuff. In the third volume of the manga, Al said that he and Ed hadn't totally gotten over it, and still sometimes feel "overwhelming sadness". He also thinks they'd feel better if they just had a good cry. But of course, Al can't cry, and I doubt Ed would without him. I guess it just wouldn't seem fair for Ed to be able to "get over" something, and just leave Al behind.

But uh, yeah. Sorry for the URL in the dorky spot. I drew this so I could flail in brotherliness. The blue ethereal thing is their mother, and the line I wrote on it is from the song "Brothers". That's the first line of Al's part of the song. Coloring shiny armor is actually fun, even though it's basically all just one color. And of course, Trisha is watching over her boys.

Oh! And I'm sorry I keep uploading serious FullMetal fanart. It's just that it happens to be colored, and I like submitting colored stuff to my gallery. I have something very dorky in mind for Halloween, though, trust me. XD

EDIT: Little teeny edit to the image. :P

Eh, no they aren't. Their mother is there, denoting it as a "family" type image.

Besides, yaoi is like... sex smut. I think you mean "shonen-ai". :P

*Glances at the black-and-white version* Nyahhhh, a time when criticism was asked and I wasn't there XD *Waves fist* Next time, Gadget.. next time. I was away for a good four days without commenting on anything.. so that part came too late ;.; Oh well! And it would be beating a dead horse to make an expired comment so I'll just make one here XD

Goodness gracious, have you improved to the max or what "O_O" I'm serious, this is really outstanding, I think. Especially with how Al turned out. You really did very well with coloring the armor.. and you can see the great aim in terms of lighting.. it's all balanced and stuff, I mean XD I know it would probably be an utter pain in the ass for me to draw such a.. detailed character. Nyarhar.

I love the reason you gave as to the lack of tears in Ed's face. Admittingly, I just assumed he WAS crying, but his hair was covering it up.. or something like that XD But your reasoning is really sweet.. although it can be so super hard to not be able to cry sometimes. Wauughhh.

Ed looks a tad bit pudgy.. but maybe that adds more to the sadness.. childlike and stuff ;.; And I love the addition of their mother in the background, especially with the light blue outlining.. definitely makes her look real ghostly and stuff. The way you did her flowing hair was great too ;.;

So yeah.. wonderful job on this! I'm really impressed!

Wow, thank you!

Hah, I always make Ed a little pudgy. It's not intentional. I guess it helps make Trisha look her age, because I tried my best to slim her down so she'd -look- like an adult. XD

Butbutbut... thank you!

Very sweet, and amazingly well drawn - you caught a very sad mood. I especially like how the mother's ghostly figure is pale against the yellow of the hair. Lovely work.

I totally wish I had your talent and ability to draw Al's armor. -once again, more jealousy- This just makes such an impact on me, especially after having seen the movie xD; And I like how Trisha loooks, too...she looks like, you know...even though she isn't there, she's comforting them. :+favlove:

Figured I should learn to draw the armor properly, since Al's my favorite character, haha.

But I'm glad the feeling came across well. Thank you!

The colored version came out well. I think you portrayed the emotion in this quite well, and I think Ed's expression really shows the emotion of this picture. I also like how you did Trisha watching over her boys. A very well done job on this.

Damn, your art never has any flaws. It still amazes me how you and loads of others can manage to draw an AWESOME Armour!Al. Once again you use lyrics from 'Brothers'. The manga of FMA is the best. I finished chapter 59 and I can't find 60 anywhere. Gotta go search, awesome display of sadness, byes!
